macloum are partnering with a major Energy operator in their search for an Engineering Manager to join their multi-billion dollar FPSO development project.
The position will be working from the clients head offices in La Defense, Paris. It will be contract based and will be to work Monday – Friday and will be for an initial 12 months contract with excellent potential to extend well beyond.
The role will offer a strong day rate which is negotiable depending on experience and suitability.
About role
The service holder will be in charge of providing engineering management services within the FPSO Team, during the engineering studies and project FPSO CCFT.
Activities
- Adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behavior with regard to H3SE, to implement and control H3SE rules and requirements within his area of responsibility and to comply with H3SE training requirements needed to perform the services.
- Adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behavior with regard to the Company Ethics and “Code of Conduct” policy, promote and enforce the Anti-Corruption Program within the Project
- With the spirit of client values, establish and manage the activities motivating counterparts and work diligently to meet the targets of the Project.
- Manage the engineering activities by timely reviewing the disciplines-related documentation issued by Contractors (WPS / WPQR / technical documentation / queries / derogation requests...), in order to ensure compliance with Project Specifications and Procedures (when applicable), international norms and standards with the objective to ensure respect of the schedule and to optimize costs without impacting required level of Quality and Safety.
- To raise consequently necessary comments and highlight unsafe design, deviations, unacceptable / unjustified design choices, constructability issues.
- Manage resolution of technical issues in coordination with technical specialists in charge,
- Participate to project reviews as requested by Company requirements (HAZOP, HAZID, PR...) and prepare or participate in Safety / Technical Audits for his/her disciplines Assist in development and follow up of the planning for the FPSO Package, Issue and maintain all the necessary technical documentation related to the disciplines.
- Anticipate problems and propose solutions or optimizations to the FPSO Package Manager,
- Assist and support the FPSO Manager on all aspects of the FPSO related Call For Tender, Clarification & evaluation process,
- Participate in CFT clarification meeting, and ensure follow-up activities,
- Participate to the preparation of the RTA, in coordination with the full FPSO team,
- Be aware of the Interface Management lessons & learns on similar Projects and take benefit of them for the Project,
- Organize weekly and/or monthly coordination engineering meetings with Contractors,
- Support and participate to the maintenance of Project main documents (FDP, PEP, PQP, etc.),
- Ensure adequate and timely reporting to the FPSO Manager,
- Gather ‘lessons learnt’ and provide feedback to client entities as required.
Context & Environment
The activity takes place in the context of the pre-FID phase of a major project in Africa, in affiliate being created and whose challenges and scope are currently being defined. The project is a multidisciplinary team that coordinates the development studies managed by Tour client on the Deep-Water discoveries of offshore Africa
The technical challenges the GPI / Project will face are the reservoirs development and management, the EPCI & OM FPSO contracts and subsea production/injection system definition.
The Project will be developed with the objectives to maximize economical results by optimizing the reserves, the schedule, reducing the costs and the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission, while maintaining the technical quality of the installations, with high H3SE requirements and focus
Qualifications & Experience
- Good experience in engineering for similar type of project and experience in studies and execution phases of large offshore oil & gas projects,
- English and French language required
- At least 20 years of experience in a relatable industry
- At least 15 years experience in a large offshore Oil & Gas project.
