HVAC Technical Engineering Lead – Bulk Supplier & Fabrication
Accountabilities:
- Complete technical management of procurement and manufacturing contract activities through the 3 key stages:
- Start of Manufacturing (SOM) – ‘M’ reference activities
- Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) – ‘F’ reference activities
- Shipment to Site – ‘S’ reference activities
- Compliance with the ‘Manufacturing Hub’ manual activities
- Provide technical support to Project Manager during contract ITT stage including quants and design basis
- Compilation and management of distribution matrix in conjunction with the Project Manager
- Compilation and management of the surveillance plan in accordance with Quality Requirement grades
- Engagement (via the Responsible Designer (RD)) of Direction Industrielle (DI) for manufacturing surveillance execution
- Engagement with the Third Party manufacturing surveillance specialist (where activities not undertaken by DI)
- Management of Technical Issues during fabrication such as TQ’s, NCR’s and design changes
- On behalf the Engineering Manager, lead the end of manufacturing HO3 design gate review to ensure smooth release of materials to site and design responsibility transfer to Joint Design Office
- Liaise with Interface and Integration team and construction to establish any specific material run off requirements to meet site installation sequence and ensure that these are instructed via the PM
Any other specific duties that the Engineering Manager discharges to the Technical Lead (CEL) for Bulk Supplier and Fabrication
Key Deliverables
- Progress and performance reporting to the Engineering Manager
- Approved End of Manufacturing Design at HO3 to enable release to site for installation
- The Technical Leads (CELs), ensure the technical coordination of NNB equipment contracts on design/qualification dimensions. More specifically, guarantee that the Manufacturing activities respect the design/qualification and technical specifications:
- support the PM on all design/qualification-related issues throughout the entire end-to-end process
- processes all the open points and modification requests with design impact
- proposes to the PM solutions to design-related issues and curative actions if relevant in connection with RD or NNB teams
- inform TCO-Technical Lead of significant technical open points, exemptions and NCRs
- oversee that Manufacturing is performed in line with design and technical specifications
- ensure that all the applicable and applied Manufacturing procedures are in line with the design and technical specifications, in connection with IP, Equipment Engineers and In-shop Inspectors
- ensure that NCRs resolution outputs are in line with the design and technical specifications, in connection with QML, Equipment Engineers and In-shop Inspectors
A CEL appointment may be singular by contract, or supporting multiple contracts dependent upon the contract size and complexity.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience
- Minimum HNC in an engineering discipline.
- Experience of construction of large multi-discipline projects, understanding of engineering design delivery, understanding of cross-discipline relationships, interfaces and coordination.
- Experience of engineering design delivery, requirements, standards, handover and quality needs, including use of 3D modelling environment.
- Nuclear sector experience, ideally in new build environment.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel & data management.
- A positive ‘can do’ mentality, self-motivated, setting the right behaviours.
- An ability to think laterally and flexibly to deliver solutions, and a ‘process driven’ focus to delivery.
- Strong communication skills with their team and external stakeholders.
- Understanding the needs of nuclear quality and how nuclear quality is assured and controlled.
